With Elon Musk’s tank and the latest Tesla gaining all the column inches, it is fair to say that some of the other major players are not getting the look in they deserve.

For example, the first electric Lotus – called the Evija – comes into fruition this year and damn does it look sexy. Sorry Prius, this electric hypercar with a 2,000 PS, 1700 Nm torque, which does 0-300Kph in under 9 seconds (5 times quicker than a Bugatti Chiron) deserves some column inches.

Thanks to investment from Veely (Volvo and Polestar owners) this electric supercar has four electric motors, 2 per axle, powered by a 70kWh (680kg) battery pack that is placed behind the seats for maximum power, as opposed to Tesla’s under floor design. This could be pivotal in the new Lotus’ success.

However, there are only 130 being made in 2020 and at a price tag of £2m they are not going to be mainstream anytime soon.
