While the gym is out of bounds in lockdown we have sourced the best and most effective at home celebrity workouts. The 2021 trends in fitness are HIIT, power workouts, hot yoga, belly dancing and spinning. Who said you need to hit the gym to achieve your body goals?

HIIT

First in our line up of trends are HIIT workouts, perfect for busy bees, parents and those wanting to lose weight quick and fast. Khloe Kardashian in particular has favoured HIIT workouts over anything else, introduced to her by her trainer Gunnar Peterson. Khloe participates in high intensity workouts 3-5 days a week including a mixture of cardio, circuits, pilates and boxing which she claims as her favourite stress relieving sport. These workouts send the metabolism roaring and the fat screaming! David Beckham, one of the fittest men on earth, is also a fan so you know it has got to be good. Plus, Gunnar’s philosophy to HIIT is: “Get on a regular routine. Exercise should be a cornerstone of your life, like brushing your teeth. It’s not even an option to blow it off.”

Follow Khloe’s diet to shift those stubborn pounds too:

5am: large glass of water and black coffee

6am: 2 hour workout followed by another large glass of water and oatmeal

11am: apple with peanut butter or nuts

2pm: salad with infused water (usually chopped cucumber)

7pm: steamed vegetables, fish and cauliflower mash

10pm: bowl of fruit and greek yoghurt

HOT YOGA

Hot yoga is all the rage this year consisting of 60-minute workouts in 104 degree heat. The aim of this as Jennifer Hassett (Core Power Yoga’s brand marketing manager) says, “heat stimulates fat receptors, activating fat stores which facilitate fat loss and the release of fat-soluble toxins.” Therefore by doing hot yoga, calories burn faster for a more effective workout. This workout is excellent for those who get bored easily as the music changes daily between rock, pop and hip hop to keep students feeling motivated and pumped. Reese Witherspoon is a regular attendee alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Coleen Rooney and Andy Murray.

SPINNING

Spinning is one of the most famous sporting exercise classes famous for its intensive cycling combinations and toning of the upper body. This cardio workout has become a hit with Hollywood stars such as Lady Gaga, Katie Holmes, Ashley Tisdale and Nicole Kidman. An excerise bike is needed though – borrow one or find an affordable one on Ebay or Gumtree. An easy way to stay motivated and get fit with friends using Pelicon or on your own. The exercise consists of pumping away to the beat of the music changing it up to create harder resistance and fire in the thighs or fast short burst sprints to work the heart rate. This is an excellent class to lose weight and tone up as it is proven to burn up to 700 calories in just one 45 minute session.

BELLY DANCING

If you’re bored of the treadmill and the same boring workout then belly dancing is the way to go! This workout completely tones the torso working the abs, tightens the hip and works the waist to slim down into that bikini body. Other fans all over this workout include Vanessa Hudgens, Rihanna, Shakira, Kim Kardashian and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Believe it or not fans of the exercise regime are also pleased to know they have learnt an extra dancing ability thrown into a fun-packed weekly workout.

HULA HOOPING

Hula hooping is a fun new craze that you can do anywhere and at any time. This low impact exercise tones the tummy and works the legs as well during a simple yet effective routine. The new trend is available in over 30 countries and in 13 different languages to benefit all. Celebrities hot on this craze are Kelly Osbourne, Zooey Deschanel, Michelle Obama and Beyoncé.
