LONE SURVIVOR
Lone Survivor is the true story of an ill-fated US Navy Seal mission to track down a senior Al-Qaeda operative. Dropped in the remote mountains of Afghanistan the four Navy seals played by Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster come up against an almost impossible mission when they become surrounded by a Taliban force and have to endure one of the most valiant efforts of modern warfare. The film tracks their events over 24 hours as Operation Redwing goes from bad to worse and they are isolated from their central command and any foreseeable help of getting out alive. Not for the faint hearted this film has some harrowing scenes and one of the most poignant moral decisions ever faced in a movie. Written and directed by Friday Night Light’s Peter Berg the story was originally a New York Times bestseller.

ALAN PARTRIDGE: ALPHA PAPA
The immensely talented Steve Coogan reprises his role as bumbling radio broadcaster Alan Partridge for a one-off movie version that won’t disappoint. While not laugh out load funny throughout Coogan’s wit and his portrayal of this makeshift petty, conceited and egotistical character Alan Partridge makes for excellent viewing. The story kicks off with Alan trying to make another comeback (he’s been a national and local TV broadcaster, a writer of ‘bouncing back’ and even killed a guest on live TV!) While at his radio station he finds himself at the centre of a siege when another fellow DJ decides to hold the station hostage after learning he’s getting sacked by new management. Fans of his previous BBC One show “I’m Alan Partridge” will love this film and it’s a good introduction to the comic talent of Coogan to newcomers.
