Jay Z’s new album 4:44 has caused huge controversy since its release last week. Particularly among a host of A Listers such as Halle Berre’s Hollywood actor ex Eric Benet who he openly slates for cheating on Helle when they were married.

The brazen rapper took to the mic and penned a track talking about Eric’s past indiscretions. Addressing himself in the song he said: “You almost went Eric Benet / Let the baddest girl in the world get away / I don’t even know what else to say. I can’t believe you.”

Within hours of the album dropping, irrated Eric tweeted: “Hey yo #Jayz! Just so ya know, I got the baddest girl in the world as my wife….like right now.”

Following his split with Halle, Eric reportedly checked into a sex addiction rehab centre and later moved on to marry Manuela Testolini in 2011 (Prince’s former wife), with whom he now has two children.

Multi-billionaire Jay Z also mentioned Solange, Bey’s sister, in the album and let slip about a few other people who have angered the rapper, who have (at the moment) remained nameless.

A source close to Halle revealed: “Halle absolutely loves Jay’s track and thinks it’s hilarious he cracked on Eric about his cheating. Jay is totally right Eric’s cheating did ruin their marriage and it really hurt Halle.”

The insider added: “Halle isn’t one to forget people who screw her over too easily or quickly so it definitely gave her a giggle.”
