THE GREAT ESTATE FESTIVAL

@ Scorrier Estate, Cornwall

2nd – 4th June

Billed as ‘the most rambunctious garden fête!’ The Great Estate Festival is set within

the mystical grounds of the Scorrier Estate in Cornwall. Now in its 6th year, the

magic just keeps growing and in 2023 it’s destined to be fully loaded with their

epic headline announcement of The Selector, Primal Scream and Symphonic

Ibiza with Henge and The Cuban Brothers also set to take the stage over the weekend.

‘Talks at Teatime’ also grants us the opportunity of a live hands-on music demo hosted by

Jason Bradbury and Pauline Black OBE hosting a conversation on our times’ most influential

cultural icons.

SHYNEFEST 2023

@ Merrist Wood, Guildford

3rd June

ShyneFest has established itself as an integral part of the Surrey music scene.

There’s plenty on site to keep the family occupied; whether it’s a silent disco or face

painting, taking a poke around the art and craft stalls, or just having a good old

kickabout, there’s something for everyone. At the heart of it all of course, is the

music. This year’s line-up includes Republica, Rhythm of the 90’s and the Replicants.

HAMPTON COURT PALACE FESTIVAL

@ Hampton Court Palace

6th – 17th June

Starting on June 6th till June 17th Hampton Court Festival has revealed its line-up of acts consisting of the legendary Gladys Knight on June 6th, Soft Cell on June 7th, Grace Jones (our cover star) on June 8th, Kool & The Gang on June 9th, Kaiser Chiefs on June 10th, the legendary Welsh singer Tom Jones on June 14th and Bjorn Again on June 16th. The festival culminates with 80’s superstar Rick Astley on June 17th. There is only a 3000 capacity for this festival so be sure to get those tickets in early. Sadly at the time of going to press Tom Jones was sold out but you may still be able to get on resale, if you’re lucky!

FIZZ IN THE FOX

Saturday 17th June

What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than with bottomless prosecco and a delicious two-course brunch in The Fox dining rooms? Exclusively for adults, gather your friends and indulge in a selection of delicious light dishes while enjoying a sophisticated afternoon of fizz and live entertainment from the talented singer, Christie Prentice. GLASTONBURY 2023

Elton John was the only star lined up to play Glastonbury Festival this June as

Surrey Rocks went to press. The Rocket Man has chosen Worthy Farm for his last

ever UK performance and his final stop for his triumphant ‘Yellow Brick Road’ tour.

Since then, big names have been announced including Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney, Years

LOVE SUPREME JAZZ FESTIVAL

@ Glynde Place, East Sussex

June 30th – July 2nd

Love Supreme includes a spectrum of musical styles including jazz, funk, soul, blues

and hip-hop and comprises five stages: The Main Stage, which focuses on broader

styles of R&B, Funk, Soul and Blues; The Big Top, which plays host to the biggest

names in Jazz; The Arena, which hosts contemporary and progressive acts in the

jazz sphere and The Bandstand, which hosts up and coming acts. Headlining this

year’s festival is Candi Station, Marcus Miller, Thundercat, Shalamar and Gabriels.

THE DRIFTERS

Friday 7th July

The Drifters are back on tour in the UK and Guildford on July 7th at award-winning G Live

performing all their classic hits including ‘Saturday Night at the

Movies’, ‘You’re More Than A Number,’ ‘Come on Over to My Place’, ‘Under

the Boardwalk’, ‘Kissin’ In The Back Row’ and many more.

The legendary group have been inducted into the Rock & Roll of Fame,

OPEN AIR ADVENTURE CINEMA

Enjoy outdoor screenings of top movie classics including ‘Top Gun Maverick’, ‘Pretty Woman’ and even sing-a-along screenings of ‘Mama Mia’ and ‘The Greatest Showman’ at this National Trust treasure, Polesden Lacey, based in Great Bookham, Surrey. 51st STATE FESTIVAL

51st State Festival is a one-day London house music festival held in the capital

Copthall Playing Fields in Barnet. Celebrating the roots of house music, 51st State

pulls together the various threads of this influential genre, taking festival-goers on a

journey through classic house, tech house, afro house, garage, disco, soul, dance

and more, curating a line-up that comes from Chicago, Detroit and London

across 7 stages and dance tents. Guests will also be treated to a Body & SOUL

experience brought over from legendary New York trio Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell, and

WEYFEST

Weyfest is more like a mini-holiday than a music festival. It is a stress-free weekend in the country, with over 30 hours of the finest music, camping, posh loos, friendly staff and plenty to occupy the kids with music, drama and creative arts workshops, train rides and the many attractions offered by the open-air museum which is the venue itself – The Rural Life Living Museum, Tilford, set in the outstanding natural beauty of the Surrey Hills. CARFEST SOUTH

Carfest South is a family festival in Hampshire. They have great activities including

car racing, showcasing older racing models and newer concept electric cars. Plus

family fun including games, stalls, activities, food, comedy and more. There is an

impressive line-up including Craig David, Texas, The Feeling, Village People and BoyzLife. The festival supports a wide range of children’s charities including BBC Children in Need,
