Si Siam is a great new Thai restaurant in Guadiaro, just across the carretera from Sotogrande.
It serves the most amazing choice of dishes. The sharing platter is a great option for a starter as you can get the best of everything on the starter menu including chicken satay, prawn satay, samosa, Thai spring rolls, prawn toast and corn cake.
If you like soup, Si Siam recommend the Tom Kar Gui coconut soup. It has a great flavour and is full of succulent pieces of chicken, or you can opt for prawn.
The owners also highly recommend trying the Thai prawn Green curry or Kiew Wan Goong, as it is known for a main course. The beef massaman is particularly good too if you fancy something a little bit spicier.
For a lighter option go for the beef salad or Yum Nue, which is covered in a wonderful sticky glaze adding depth and flavour.
But the ultimate dish would have to be the Phat Thai. Chicken or prawn options all come with fresh noodles and vegetables, diced peanuts and chilli flakes on the side in case you want to spice things up a bit.
There is a wide choice of desserts but Mango with coconut sticky rice, or Khao Neaw Mamuang, is an excellent traditional Thai dessert and refreshing palate cleanser after your main meal.
As well as fantastic food, the setting and décor of Si Siam is breathtakingly beautiful. Located opposite Guadiaro Church, in an old fashioned but newly renovated courtyard and adjoining restaurant.
You can dine under the stars in the courtyard, where you will be surrounded by a Thai-influenced rockery, gardens and a padoga with a gold Buddha centrepiece. The garden is softly lit at night, making it a very peaceful and tranquil setting.
There is also the option to dine inside and a covered bar and lounge seating area, perfect for before or after dinner drinks.
