While the world´s media wait with baited breath to see what everyone will be wearing next season, there is also a huge question hanging over these infamous events….which city wore it best? TOP DESIGNER EXHIBITORS
CHLOÉ: The SS16 collection echoed a sweet and joyous theme with the main features including casual denim and something which is out of the ordinary for Chloé: sport chic apparel like striped track pants and lingerie like camisoles. Simple yet definitely effective.

CELINE: Celine offered black lace which left little to the imagination this season, the sheer trend ranged from lingerie dressing which staked as outerwear to leather dresses.The talk of the show was a green army hourglass option with a knit torso which flooded onto Instagram.

HERMES: The concept of the show was luxury. The femininity of the jackets and overcoats tailored the masterpieces alongside a pairing of wide leg trousers with coloured sneakers. The pleated skirts in leather formed the path for evening numbers. The colour palette was black, blue, ivory and red.

TOM FORD: The models for the show oozed confidence and sex appeal wearing fur patchwork tops and miniskirts. Lace and leather paired together translates into a rock and roll theme whilst the metallic reflections highlighted their curves. A quick appearance from Lada Gaga made the cut which gave him added kudos.

Tom Ford loses 2 points as he had to present the show via video link as he was too busy to attend.
FRONT ROW CELEBRITIES: Audrey Tautou, Dylan Penn, Jada Pinkett Smith, Alice Isaaz, Marie-Agnes Gillot, Aymeline Valade and Chiara Ferragni.

OMG MOMENT: Rick Owen´s stole the show at Paris Fashion Week by sending models down the runway as human rucksacks! The provocative performance art show by Owens was both shocking and impressive. While supposedly an ode to women and pregnancy – reporters said it looked more like a 69!

STYLING: The Chloe models who walked the show were made up by celebrity hairstylist Eugene Souleiman to wash their hair and let it air dry. Never before has fashion week gone for such a low key (or lazy?!) look.

TOP DESIGNER EXHIBITORS
MOSCHINO: Jeremy Scott’s Moschino show this year brought vibrancy and of course individuality, we wouldn’t expect anything less! One of Scott’s themes was road traffic and the designs were adapted and reworked hi-vis using neon green and orange and the décor consisted of tyre marks and stop signs.

ROBERTO CAVALLI: Use of pastel colours in this season’s collection was a refreshing theme considering the muted colour palettes colours used by other designers. Cavalli conveyed a sense of youth in his denim crop jackets and belted mini dresses.

ARMANI: Georgio Armani’s Spring 2016 collection was preppy and quirky, mix and matching silk culottes and blazers giving it an out-of-school look. The glamorous side to this collection had a day at the races theme with oversized hats and summer cocktail dresses.

GUCCI
The Gucci Spring 2016 collection featured unusual animal footwear. The models graced the catwalk in kangaroo fur loafers retailing at £1165. Apart from the wacky (overpriced) all fur shoes the rest of Gucci’s collection was bright, dressed with sequins and even more animal print!

NUMBER OF SHOWS: 170
STAND OUT MOMENT: The entire Moschino show made you feel as if you were in the midst of daytime congestion in a busy city which enticed audiences and created a whole new level for fashion shows. Traffic sounds and smells were blasted out to the awaiting crowds.

TOP DESIGNER EXHIBITORS
VIVIENNE WESTWOOD: This season Westwood has captured the essence of 70’s flower power. Extravagant shoulder pads were an iconic design used in a lot of Westwood’s outfits and the ruffled hem wrap dresses were extremely flattering for the models, clinching in tightly at the waist and loosely covering other areas.
DESIGNER ROCKS RATING: 5
ALEXANDER MCQUEEN: Sarah Burton the creative director of McQueen created a Victorian era theme for this seasons collection. It was an elegant and original masterpiece. The high neck ruffles made regular appearances fitting well within the time period and proved successful due to the positive audience reactions.

VICTORIA BECKHAM: This season VB´s collection conveyed a new and creative side to her designs. The eccentric and bohemian styles were displayed through statement green and oxblood checked pattern used in a range of styles from pinafore dresses to maxi skirts.

BURBERRY: Christopher Bailey’s collection for Burberry maintained his trademark colours of nude and black whilst adding some paisley and floral patterns into the mix too. Tassels and frills were incorporated in a number of his designs while the classic overcoat made regular appearances from the iconic and timeless Burberry trench to the oversized suede duffel.

STAND OUT MOMENT: Posh’s recent trip to Africa for charity seemed to make a collaborative impact on her collection especially with the use of bright vivid colours combined with camel suedes made her collection anything but bland. Victoria’s previous trademark of dark clothing says she is up for experimenting now.

TOMMY HILFIGER: Hilfiger took influence from Jamica and legendary reggae singer Bob Marley. The collection showcased rainbow colour caps and followed through to boho dresses and crochet accessories culminising in a playful water catwalk with daring bottom-baring bikinis.

JASON WU: The SS16 collection was based upon hourglass dresses and challenging the balance between power and delicateness. The colour palette ranged from floral, teal and coral red.
DESIGNER ROCKS RATING: 3
PHILIP LIM: Philip’s spring collection gave off a mix of themes, the leather and satin garments showcased Philips attention to detail and shapes which compliment the figure. The colour palette ranged from florals, beige, green, gold and grey.

GIVENCHY: The models walked in mostly black and white outfits for Givenchy’s US show including couture and ready to wear collections. The collection was inspired by memories of the freedom of New York.

STAND OUT MOMENT: The Givenchy venue was in close proximity to the 9/11 memorial site, given the show was on the anniversary date many were speculating if the event would link through fashion – which he did subtly. The set involved recycled metal panels nailed together with live performance art set ups and a rendition of Ave Maria for the finale.
