Irish singer Sinead O’ Connor has checked into a hospital in New Jersey following a very alarming 12 minute Facebook video where she said she was suicidal and struggling to find the will to live.

Speaking from a messy Travelodge room, the ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ singer was clearly shaken and fighting back tears, saying she’s ready to go to be with her mum. “I’ve been wanting to go for two f***ing years. I’m all by myself, there’s absolutely no one in my life.” Sinead’s mum died when the singer was only 19 and the star has battled with bipolar disorder for 12 years. Elsewhere in the video, the now 50-year-old singer says she hopes the video can help others who are struggling with mental illness.
