Brit singer Jessie J has tragically revealed she lost the baby she was carrying in her second trimester.
The 33-year-old singer – who publicly announced she would be caring for the child alone, after separating from her partner dancer Max Pham less than a month ago – has now had to share the news that during her third pivotal scan…. the doctors could no longer find a heartbeat.
The devastated singer took to social media to tell fans in an emotional post: “Yesterday morning I was laughing with a friend saying ‘seriously though how am I going to get through my gig in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience I am pregnant.’ By yesterday afternoon I was dreading the thought of getting through the gig without breaking down… After going for my 3rd scan and being told there was no longer a heartbeat – I feel like I have no control of my emotions. I may regret posting this. I may not. I actually don’t know. What I do know is that I want to sing tonight. Not because I’m avoiding the grief or the process, but because I know singing tonight will help me.”
The brave singer took to the stage and did her gig. She also posted a quote from an Australian poet to sum up her feelings on her miscarriage, “Sometimes love won’t be enough to make it work, and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean that you’ve failed.” It was the first time the singer had fallen pregnant and she has said publicly she had always hoped to be a mother.
