Now celebrating its 20th year, the International Benicassim Festival is back with a bang from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 July 2014. Officially called FIB Heineken, or Benicassim, as its faithful attendees more affectionately know it, this event caters for every musical taste from rock to pop, to dance, to indie.
This year the line up includes Kasabian, Paul Weller, Razorlight, Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen, Tinie Tempah and Travis. But being Benicassim’s 20th birthday bash expect to see a few hidden surprises which the organisers are keeping under wraps till the event. Last year Killers’ front man Brandon Flowers spoke to the audience in Spanish, as night set in a gigantic firework display lit up the whole sky around the festival.
FIM also offers a wide range of non-musical entertainment from dance, art, theatre, fashion and film. So if non-stop partying for four days is not your thing you can experience a bit of cultural entertainment in between.Another huge bonus for Benicassim fans is its location, a beautiful beachside resort. So spending a few hours swimming and sunbathing is a good way to relax before, during and after the event, and a welcome recovery for some.
