Brit comedian James Corden has announced he is leaving as anchor of ‘The Late Late Show’ in the US after his next season. CBS had been trying to get the star to sign for multiple seasons, but he has only agreed one more, his final eighth season.
“I never want this show to overstay its welcome in any way. I always want to love making it,” Corden said of his recent April 28 episode.
Since taking over the reins, Corden has won two Emmy’s and turned the show into a pillar of late night programming with his regular ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segments featuring Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Justin Bieber.
Corden plans to spend more time in the UK and is mulling a move home with his wife Jules and three children.
