Are you ready to catch the Glitterbug?

GLITTER DRESSES

Glitter dresses are bang on trend. The staple of any girl’s party wardrobe is making a huge comeback. Dua Lipa, George Troch, J-Lo and Paris Hilton have all been papped in the sexiest of party dresses adorned with sequins and/or chainmail for that glitter effect. It evokes feelings of fun and sparkles in any light whether it be restaurant or club dancefloor. Glitter balls are left in the shadows!

Trochopoulos, a rising Greek designer set up shop in London with the guiding principle of “the shinier, the better.”

Another leading designer of the glitter look, Retrofête, has made huge in-roads in the fashion marketplace this year with their designs. Co-founder and creative director, Ohad Seroya, who has dressed J Lo in sequin-saturated chiffon, believes sexiness is a state of mind. “We thrive to evoke a state of emotion in every piece that we design. When a woman puts on her Retrofête dress, her energy and mood is infectious.” The flattering, light-reflecting quality of the micro crystals is also mesmerising.

The look also works for glam dinner parties and is huge for festivals. The main reason it has made such a huge comeback this year is undoubtedly because of lockdown ending and everyone missing the party vibe.

Nothing else says party than a dress full of sequins! Don’t you agree?

GLITTER MAKE-UP

If you thought the Spring/Summer 2022 glitter trend was flash in the pan or just for fashion, think again. Wear iridescent gold on your cheekbones for a golden Greek goddess look. If you are feeling like going ‘way out’ take a leaf out of the Vogue beauty editor’s book and go full on sparkle with glitter and diamante’s in different sizes and colours.

Thanks to a whole host of cosmetic brands including Beauty Blvd, Barry M and Ciaté, embracing the playful glitter look is made easy no matter what your skillset or budget. Barry M Glitter palettes start from only £4.

GLITTER NAILS

The glitter trend transcends make-up with nails following suit. The best way to add glitter to nails instead of buying a whole new set of varnishes is to sprinkle a coat of fine glitter (stay clear of heavy-duty ones) to nails as they are drying. Make glitter a feature by only coating one or two nails as pictured.

Voila! Instant glitter nails in all your favourite colours. Thank us later.
