This season, there are three key trends you should consider. Each will be individually tailored by our highly educated team to compliment your skin tone, maintenance and lifestyle preferences and hair type. We partner with Goldwell, a globally renowned product company that only supplies professionals. This means our colour technicians work with technically superior products. The colours they produce create beautiful multi-dimensional tones, are kind to the hair and most importantly, deliver outstanding results.

ICE BLONDE

A full head of white blonde hair will always turn heads but it is crucial that your hair is in optimum condition in order for this to work. To achieve this cool toned, platinum blonde, we would apply either a full head of highlights or an all over scalp bleach for full impact. We work with Goldwell’s BondPro+ products and recommend you use their BondPro+ Bond Booster Day and Night product in the lead up to the appointment and continue with this once the application has been applied.

Ice Blonde is more suited for people with a cooler undertone, is perfect for any age or profession and can also be a great way to blend in whites. It is however, a high maintenance colour choice, with root touch-up ideally every 6-8 weeks. Products such as Oribe Bright Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner is a must to care for this colour at home.

CALIFORNIAN BLONDE

For a more relaxed approach to blonde, the original beach blonde as seen on Pamela Anderson, is your friend. This sun-kissed look can be created by ballayage, baby lights or highlights and

works better on longer hair.

Upkeep on this look is minimum, but looks best on super shiny, illuminated hair, as if the sun is shining directly on you. Protein based products such as Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo and Conditioner will keep hair in optimum condition, while their Shine Light Reflection Spray will recreate that feeling of golden sunshine on dull days.

PASTEL BLONDE

Rainbow pastels are still popular in the salon, and at any point at least one of the team members will be showcasing why. Because they look great. And require minimal commitment. As long as the blonde isn’t the Cali tone above then almost any pastel shade will work. Lemon, mint, rose gold, lavender or peach – the colours and placement of the shades are limitless. Balayage, highlights, full head colour or flashes of colour to add a focal point to a cut.

Choosing the right tone again depends on skin colour, cooler tones will look best on cooler skin, while warmer tones on warmer skin. However, we have the knowledge and experience to advise which shade it best.  You can be playful with this as pastel tones aren’t permanent and will last a maximum 4 weeks. Using Goldwell’s Colour Brilliance Shampoo and Conditioner will help lock the colour in for longer and regular visits for a toner refresh are recommended.

I hope this has inspired anyone looking to refresh their blonde or those considering a move to the lighter side of life. We have a colour offer at the moment. If you upgrade any balayage or highlighting service to include a Kerasilk Colour Care Treatment you will receive a complimentary Kerasilk Colour Care Shampoo & Conditioner to take home and care for your colour longer.

Finally, please note that new clients require a sensitivity test 48 hours in advance of colour services. Existing colour clients require a test if a period of six months or more passes between colour services with us. We offer complimentary in salon tests, however if that isnt possible with your schedule we also offer home testing kits that can be posted out to you at a cost of £15.

I’ll be back next month with more insights from the world of hair but if you can’t wait until then, please visit our Esher salon at 7 High Street, KT10 9RL where myself and the team are always happy to talk about our favourite subject.
