Oscar Pistorius was found guilty of ‘culpable’ homicide in the shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Reeva’s parents, Barry and June Steenkamp, have insisted the result was “not the right verdict.”
Pistorius ascertains he thought Steenkamp was an intruder when he opened fire on her through a toilet door on Valentine’s Day last year, killing her with 4 gun shot wounds. “He could have gone to the balcony and shouted for help knowing that somebody was there. He could have pressed the alarm system and all this would have been prevented,” Barry said. “I feel that there’s still a missing link somewhere. I think there’s quite a bit more to the whole thing than has been produced so far.”
Double amputee Olympian Pistorius was charged with culpable homicide on September 12 in South Africa and will return to court on October 13 to be sentenced.
