Uptown Flava, Epsom Social’s newest kitchen is serving up the best, bold Caribbean-inspired dishes. Dive into their signature jerk chicken, enjoy loaded fries bursting with flavour, and savour soulful bites that hit just right.<\/p>\n
Our experience was amazing. Great service, top notch food, cocktails to die for and the best ambience in a fun and buzzy setting in Epsom.<\/p>\n
As we were testing Caribbean cuisine the helpful bar managers Rebecca and Saheel suggested we go for the Rum Punch and the Margarita with a lime twist and they went perfectly.<\/p>\n

THE FOOD<\/p>\n
The best dish of the day was \u2018Curried Goat\u2019, which was actually goat not mutton as many people think and it was actually really tender and not as tough as you would have thought.<\/p>\n
\u2018The Chicken Tenders\u2019 were superb, spicy and crispy coated there was 5 dipping sauces to go with including Jerk Gravy, Blue Cheese Ranch, Nacho Cheese, Satay and the Chipotle Mayonnaise dip was to die for.<\/p>\n
The standout dish was the Uptown Flava signature \u2018Dirty Fries\u2019 which came loaded with cheese, bacon, dried onion, chipotle sauce. Health conscious people stay away.<\/p>\n
The \u2018Bad Manners\u2019 came with jerk chicken, jerk gravy, mac and cheese and was served on a bed of rice and kidney beans.<\/p>\n
My intrepid diner Nadia Essex divulged that her mum was half Caribbean half way through the meal, so was used to this type of food.<\/p>\n
She praised the chicken, gravy and sauces and said it was \u201cjust like they make at home.\u201d<\/p>\n
The final dish of the day was the Coleslaw and Plantain \u2013 the latter was superb, crisp on the outside and full of flavour.<\/p>\n
On Sundays, Uptown Flava offers a twist on the British classic with their epic Jerk Roasts, featuring Roasted Jerk Chicken, Rosemary Salt Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Plantain, homemade Yorkshire Puddings, and more. Plus, there’s often a “guest” meat to keep things exciting!<\/p>\n

Peter Farrell, founder & CEO of Epsom Social, has a genuine passion for food. Peter knew he wanted to be in hospitality from an early age and has worked his way to the top, bringing a wealth of experience with him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI knew from the age of 7 I wanted to be in hospitality. I have a genuine passion for food and hosting! I went to study culinary arts, did an MA in Business and Hospitality and after that I spent 10 years in Ireland, Australia, London and the South of France. I have worked for restaurants including the Fat Duck, Wild Honey and Arbetus, so more high-end fine dining. I have had restaurants in London too and street food businesses, so I have worked in every area possible. I definitely bring 25 years of hard work and expertise to this business.\u201d<\/p>\n
And it shows as the award wins keep rolling in! So far Epsom Social has won a Surrey Award for Best Newcomer, a Time & Leisure Award and a Go Epsom Award too and picked up in the Best Restaurant Category at the 2024 Surrey Awards.<\/p>\n
Peter added, \u201cIt\u2019s great to get recognition from local people and businesses as we are genuinely community focused! A lot of businesses say that but we really do care! I genuinely believe we have created a cool creative space for guests \u2013 a balance of food, drink, fun and that chill side of things!\u201d<\/p>\n
