All eyes were on the red carpet at Denbies Wine Estate for the highly anticipated Surrey Awards 2023. This high fashion spectacle showcased the best of what Surrey fashion has to offer. From heavenly elegance to shimmering sequins and sexy swingy details, guests, nominees, performers and presenters delivered some of Surrey’s best spellbinding style moments.
- High Impact with Minimal Effort – Swerving the rainbow in style, we love these monochromatic piano key-inspired looks. Focus on textures and shape for an effortless look that still packs a punch. Silk is great for a glitzy event like the Surrey Awards as it glistens in all light. Cropped trousers are a must have too for Summer 2023 and look great with heels.
- Classic Craft-Core – Borrowing styles from yesteryear, the modern BoHo chic trend is back and turning heads. Fusing craftsmanship and a free-spirited attitude, this inspired look will take you from beach to bar and beyond. Modelled by ‘EastEnders’ actress Gemma Bissix from the award-winning boutique Nettie Knows in Weybridge!
- 1970’s Halston Glamour – Sumptuously minimal this sleek maxi dress with plunging neckline and side split worn by La Vida Model Management director Kate Righton, exudes easy-going glamour. In homage to Halston, the legendary designer, we love the timeless cut of this dress, synonymous with the 1970s and the glamorous era of studio 54, Halston’s gowns rarely featured anything they didn’t need to.
- Hey Gold-Looking – Who remembers Charlize Theron wearing that iconic liquid gold dress in the J’Adore Dior advert? This glittering metallic hue caught the light as our model moved creating all of the drama you could crave. Well done to Alexander James Interiors for showcasing their best fashion foot forward, making our Best Dressed List.
- Whimsical White – The white dress Summer staple is seriously elevated here with appliqué adornment. High-end designers, Dolce and Gabbana and Valentino combine this ancient craft with modern intervention to create exquisite looks like this one. Serendipity’s Yulia wore it with panache with cute gold, ballet pump style sandals.
- Rosy Hues – Embracing the Barbiecore trend in a timeless silk wrap-over dress is what we call clever chic. As the name suggests, the look owes much to Mattel’s fashionable doll, who has recently been brought to life by Margot Robbie for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film, out this month. Check out the Surrey Rocks Movie Reviews page! Well done Jana, Surrey Awards official make-up artists for nailing this trend.
- Swish, Swish & Twirl – Everybody loves a good frock, right? Feminine, flattering and utterly stunning – these gorgeous gowns command single-styling for maximum impact. Just add sparkling jewels for a modern day princess and you’re good to glow.
- Summer’s heating up! Well almost. We’re loving these nonchalant Summer dresses that turn up the heat when the sun has gone down. The understatedly elegant silhouettes worn by the Surrey Scene Girls exude opulence for a Summer statement look.
- Purple Reign – the perfect hue to make a statement whatever the season as worn by Celeb’s Go Dating’s Nadia Essex from Ruby La La Boutique in Farnham. This gem of a shade paired with the classic cut of this dress equals purple perfection.
- Tailor Trends – reinvigorating mens tailoring – these stylish ensembles by Howard & Co. Attire as worn by Tayo and Dowzie are less suited-and-booted, more colourful and covetable. Make a sartorial statement, stand out from the crowd and add a little fun to your fashion.
We can’t wait for the Surrey Awards 2024 to bring you more from The Best Dressed List – we had so much fun attending this event and compiling our Surrey Rocks Spotlight.
