The Gumball 3000 is a car race but like no other – Miami to Ibiza, two continents, five countries, 3000 miles \u2013 all in 7 days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a high adrenaline race for the rich and famous featuring fast and sometimes never been seen before cars. A spectacle to watch if you can or an even greater experience to participate if you can stump up the \u20ac50,000 entry fee!<\/strong><\/p>\n

He initially invited 50 of his friends to take part in a 3000 mile drive around Europe. Winning wasn\u2019t nearly as important as the parties that followed each leg of the race, and not surprisingly, within a few years, word of the rally began to spread.<\/p>\n

Today, the Gumball is not only one of the world\u2019s largest motor rallies, it\u2019s also considered the ultimate road trip for car aficionados worldwide or a rite of passage for \u2018big kids\u2019 who enjoy the speed and tenacity of a race with some partying thrown in for good measure.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also gained a cult celebrity following with its now legendary parties attended by the likes of Kate Moss, Kylie Minogue and Johnny Knoxville.<\/p>\n

Only this year Tony Hawk, Tinnie Tempah, David Hasselhoff and former Ruff Ryders rapper Eve went along for the ride.<\/p>\n

THE RACE<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year the race started in South Beach, Miami, where the 120 strong racing drivers cruised through the state of Florida towards Georgia and Atlanta. New York provided the next stopover, where the drivers enjoyed a day of money-can\u2019t-buy VIP hospitality.<\/p>\n

Then all the 120 supercars \u00a0were loaded onto cargo planes and flown over the Atlantic to Scotland \u2013 with the Gumballers on private jets not far behind.<\/p>\n

Leaving skyscrapers for lochs and highlands, drivers roared through Scotland before heading south to the home of the Gumball – London. From there it was across the channel to Paris, then through France and Spain to the beautiful city of Barcelona.<\/p>\n

The home stretch was just a short drive and ferry ride to the finish line in Ibiza, where the Gumballers enjoyed an explosive finale celebration weekend.<\/p>\n

LIFE ON THE ROAD<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event organisers promise that \u201cGumballers are guaranteed the adventure of a lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bun, a rapper and regular Gumball 3000 attendee, said of the event:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Gumball is not a bunch of rich people just showing off cars. I understand why people would think that because the people that do it are wealthy. But once we get on that highway, money can\u2019t help you in certain situations. You\u2019re gonna laugh, you\u2019re gonna cry, you\u2019re gonna be happy and angry. And it takes your brothers to help you get through it all. The Gumball is a brotherhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS YEARS EVENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gumball CEO Maximillion married rapper Eve at the Ibiza finale. The couple first met on the Gumball in 2010. The \u2018cat that got the cream\u2019 Maximillion posted this Instagram pic after the wedding:<\/p>\n

This year Regent Street in London was closed off as crowds marvelled at an Optimus Prime Truck.<\/p>\n

Canadian DJ Zimmerman aka Dedmau5 received the spirit of Gumball Award. He nicknamed his car the \u201cPurrari\u201d since it\u2019s wrapped in Nyan cat wallpaper and comes with an iPod loaded with Nyan Cat songs.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Top Secret Location was Top Gear\u2019s test track at Dunsfold Park.<\/p>\n

Money is raised through the rally for the Gumball 3000 Foundation, a non-profit charitable trust aimed at providing opportunities to underprivileged young people from across the world. This year the target is to raise \u00a3150,000.<\/p>\n
