The invasion of Hollywood’s “it” list\u00a0by British actors is at an all time high.<\/p>\n

From <\/span>Superman <\/span><\/i>to<\/span> Spiderman<\/span><\/i>,<\/span> Harry Potter <\/span><\/i>to<\/span> The Hobbit<\/span><\/i>, these <\/span>addictive <\/span>films <\/span>and series <\/span>have <\/span>captured<\/span> the world with their<\/span> epic dramas and<\/span> scandalous<\/span> storylines<\/span>.<\/span> Normally b<\/span>ig Hollywood names<\/span> would<\/span> take <\/span>ce<\/span>ntre<\/span> stage in these <\/span>famous <\/span>franchises but<\/span> more recently we have witnessed a seri<\/span>ous invasion of British talent.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Flying the flag for the UK are Henry <\/span>Cavill<\/span>, Andrew Garfield,<\/span> Emma Watson, <\/span>Benedict <\/span>Cumberbatch<\/span>, <\/span>R<\/span>osamund<\/span> Pike, Eddie <\/span>Redmayne<\/span> and James <\/span>McAvoy<\/span> to name but a few. We give you a rundown on the talented Brits taking <\/span>Tinseltown<\/span> by storm.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tom Hardy<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gorgeous Brit <\/span>actor Tom Hardy has<\/span> been<\/span> thrust into the <\/span>attention of mainstream audiences <\/span>with <\/span>roles in <\/span>Inception, Batman <\/span><\/i>and<\/span> Bronson<\/span><\/i>. T<\/span>he actor has been steadily working on both stage and screen <\/span>for over 15 years <\/span>since his television debut in the mini-series <\/span>Band of Brothers<\/span><\/i><\/a>. His big <\/span>Hollywood <\/span>break came <\/span>in <\/span>Ridley Scott<\/span><\/a>‘s<\/span> blockbuster<\/span> army film<\/span> Black Hawk Down<\/span><\/i><\/a> and as the villain <\/span>Shinzon<\/span> in<\/span> Star Trek: Nemesis<\/span><\/i><\/a> in 2002<\/span>. However the role that really catapulted him to the Hollywood A List was Bane in Batman flick <\/span>The Dark Knight Rises<\/span><\/i> with his menacing <\/span>physique and scrambled voice he had audiences terrified. Although not as big a hit as Batman, <\/span>his <\/span>gripping performance of Charles Bronson in the autob<\/span>iographic tale of <\/span>the hardened career <\/span>crimina<\/span>l<\/span> has got to be one of the actors best films to date<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tom was born in Hammersmith, West London to British parents and studied at the prestigious Reed’s School in Surrey. He won <\/span>The Big Breakfast\u00b4s<\/span><\/i> \u201cFind me a <\/span>Supermodel<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>competition<\/span> aged 21 and had a brief contract with agency Models One. His life has not always been <\/span>rosy<\/span> as Tom has admitted having an alcohol dependency problem that he battled for five years before seeking help. He also has a son called Louis with his ex wife Rachel Speed and recently got married to <\/span>long term<\/span> girlfriend Charlotte Riley. He resides in London and has indicated that he always will, preferring the normality of Britain to the craziness of LA.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Henry <\/span><\/b>Cavill<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Smoulderingly<\/span> good looking with a chiseled body to match, Henry <\/span>Cavill<\/span> was a natural <\/span>choice for producers to take the lead <\/span>role <\/span>in Superman hit <\/span>Man of Steel<\/span><\/i>.<\/span> Born <\/span>and raised in Jersey in the Channel Islands, Henry was born the fourth of five boys and attended the prestigious Stowe School<\/span> in Buckinghamshire<\/span>. He got a lucky break in the hit film <\/span>Stardust <\/span><\/i>and then <\/span>went on take the lead role in <\/span>Immortals<\/span><\/i> and<\/span> Cold Light of Day<\/span><\/i> alongside Bruce Willis and <\/span>Sigourney Weaver. His stock is set to rise even higher, with the<\/span> follow-up film <\/span>Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice<\/span><\/i> due for release next year. Pundits are already tipping this to be the hit film of 2016.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What most people don\u00b4t know is that Henry\u00b4s talents go beyond the silver screen, with producing and directing also on his impressive resume. In 2014 he set up Promethean Productions with his brother Charlie and producer Rex <\/span>Glensy<\/span>. The UK based company\u00b4s first feature film <\/span>Stratton<\/span><\/i> is an action thriller based on the<\/span> true story of Royal Marine<\/span>,<\/span> Duncan Falc<\/span>oner. Marbella Rocks journalist <\/span>Jo Ward was <\/span>lucky to enough to interview Henry<\/span> on a recent trip to Gibraltar where he was training with the marines. She told us he is even more gorgeous in the flesh and struggled to concentrate on her interview questions<\/span> because <\/span>she was so flabbergasted by him!<\/span> Glamour readers agreed as<\/span> he topped their poll as the World\u00b4s Sexiest Man in 2012.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Actress, humanit<\/span>arian, graduate and ambassador \u2013 <\/span>Emma Watson is an incredibly accomplished and versatile <\/span>young <\/span>lady. <\/span>First a<\/span>ppearing on our screens as <\/span>dorky, bushy-<\/span>haired<\/span>,<\/span> know-it-<\/span>all <\/span>Hermione <\/span>Granger<\/span>,<\/span> to being cast <\/span>a<\/span>s the<\/span> pristine, gorgeou<\/span>s princess <\/span>Belle \u2013<\/span> Watson\u2019s career has <\/span>definitely<\/span> blossomed. <\/span>The British beauty <\/span>has acquired some strong fans thanks to her stint in the Harry Potter franchise, with a staggering 16.1 million followers on Twitter. Away from the big screen, Watson has proved she is more than just a pretty face. Taking a break from acting<\/span>,<\/span> the accomplished star graduated from the prestigious Brown University with a bachelor\u2019s degree in English literature. As if that wasn\u2019t enough, she<\/span> has also become a huge name with regard to <\/span>the promotion of gender equality and was subsequently <\/span>announced as the <\/span>Ambassador for UN Women Goodwill. She intends to dedicate her time towards the empowerment of young women and is in the midst of her <\/span>HeForShe<\/span> campaign. He first set pulses racing as the dapper suitor of Lady Mary in <\/span>Downton<\/span><\/i> Abbey<\/span><\/i>. After much courting, the two lovebirds walked down the aisle and <\/span>had<\/span> a beautiful baby boy<\/span> quite soon after<\/span>. So it was all the more devastatin<\/span>g when Julian Fellowes<\/span> tragically kill<\/span>ed<\/span> off the beloved Matthew Crawley on a Christmas Day Special! However, it seems as if <\/span>this risky gamble<\/span> by <\/span>Stevens<\/span> has paid off<\/span>. Since his departure from <\/span>Downton<\/span><\/i>, he has been a hot commodity in Hollywood<\/span>,<\/span> having appeared in several box office films, <\/span>The Guest <\/span><\/i>and<\/span> The Fifth Estate<\/span><\/i> to name a few. Lily James has made <\/span>quite the<\/span> name for herself thanks to her <\/span>endearing<\/span> character<\/span> on <\/span>Downton<\/span><\/i> Abbey<\/span><\/i>.<\/span> In recent episodes <\/span>her character, <\/span>Lady Rose<\/span> MacClare<\/span>,<\/span> has dominated the storyline<\/span>s<\/span> due to her controversial marriage to Atticus Aldridge. <\/span>With <\/span>Downton\u2019s<\/span> strong following, it\u2019s difficult to see James playing anything else but the loveable<\/span>, <\/span>cheeky<\/span> Lady Rose. However, her career has definitely catapulted into a new league with the British beauty being cast as <\/span>Ella<\/span> in<\/span> the live action film<\/span> Cinderella<\/span><\/i>. James has been travelling the world to pr<\/span>omote the much-anticipated <\/span>movie d<\/span>irected by Kenneth <\/span>Branagh<\/span> and is captivating audiences with her natural, down-to-earth, giggly personality.<\/span> Ironically, the stunning actress initially<\/span> read lines for <\/span>Anastasia<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>one of the wicked stepsisters. However, <\/span>thanks to her luscious blonde locks<\/span> and uncanny resemblance to the legendary princess<\/span>, James was asked to read lines for the beautiful<\/span> protagonist<\/span>, Cinderella<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you have never heard of Robb Stark, or the Starks <\/span>in general<\/span>, then you must have been living<\/span> under a rock! If you really haven\u2019t heard of him, th<\/span>en read no further as it contains <\/span>some spoilers. Richard Madden played the noble and beloved <\/span>Robb Stark, King of <\/span>Winterfell<\/span> in the <\/span>much-admired<\/span> series <\/span>Game of Thrones<\/span><\/i>. A<\/span>fter <\/span>we witnessed the brutal beheading of his father, <\/span>Eddard<\/span> Stark, in season <\/span>one<\/span>, we should have expected the <\/span>Lannisters<\/span> to recreate <\/span>a similar and untimely death for his <\/span>first-born <\/span>son<\/span>. The<\/span> penultimate episode in season three,<\/span> \u2018<\/span>The Red Wedding\u2019, has<\/span> definitely <\/span>gone down in TV history as <\/span>one of the most tragic <\/span>and heartbreaking of all time<\/span>. He certainly wasn\u2019t a ruthless King, which made his death all the more unfortunate, and <\/span>justified <\/span>why no one in <\/span>Game of Thrones<\/span><\/i> should ever attend a wedding \u2013 ever! However, it seems Madden has landed on his feet by being cast as the ever<\/span>– so-<\/span>handsome Prince Charming. His acclaimed performance as the Prince is something every woman will want to watch. The movie was released on 13<\/span>th<\/span> March \u2013<\/span> Prince Charming has finally been unveiled<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Andrew Garfield<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

B<\/span>orn in LA but raised in the UK<\/span> from the age of 3<\/span>, Andrew Garfield is the quirky actor th<\/span>at has taken the <\/span>Amazing Spiderman<\/span><\/i> franchise<\/span> to the highest heights. While not a muscly superhero like fellow <\/span>Brit actor <\/span>Cavill<\/span> his reprisal of Peter Parker has made him top of the list of \u201cIt\u201d actors in Hollywood. He has also earned a lead role in the new Michael <\/span>Scorcese<\/span> flick <\/span>Silence,<\/span><\/i> due for release next year. Garfield <\/span>made his feature film debut in the 2007 ensemble drama <\/span>Lions for Lambs<\/span><\/i><\/a> alongside <\/span>George Clooney<\/span>. <\/span>He <\/span>first came to international attention in 2010<\/span> with supporting roles in the<\/span> smash film <\/span>The Social Network<\/span><\/i><\/a>, for which he received<\/span> both<\/span> Golden Globe<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>BAFTA<\/span><\/a> nominations, and<\/span> Never Let Me Go<\/span><\/i><\/a>, for which he received a <\/span>Saturn Award<\/span><\/a>.<\/span> He resides in LA but regularly visits his friends and family in Epsom, Surrey.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Luke Evans has already appeared in his fair share of blockbusters. Being no stranger to the world of fantasy, Evans played <\/span>Bard<\/span> in <\/span>The Hobbit<\/span><\/i>: The Battle of the Five Armies<\/span><\/i> as w<\/span>ell as starring in Universal\u2019s <\/span>Dra<\/span><\/i>cula <\/span><\/i>Untold<\/span><\/i>. <\/span>I<\/span>t i<\/span>s no wonder the Welsh hunk was cast as <\/span>Gaston<\/span> in the upcoming live <\/span>action<\/span> film<\/span> Beauty and the Beast<\/span><\/i>.<\/span> This<\/span> multi-faceted actor will play the handsome<\/span>,<\/span> yet <\/span>arrogant<\/span> antagonist who tries to steal Belle\u2019s heart. <\/span>2016 might seem like a long way off<\/span>, but it <\/span>will<\/span> certainly be worth <\/span>the wait<\/span> to see Evans in this challenging role with such a<\/span> talented <\/span>ensemble<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Benedict <\/span><\/b>Cumberbatch<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Benedict <\/span>Cumberbatch<\/span> has appeared in his fa<\/span>ir share of blockbusters. From <\/span>12 Years a Slave<\/span><\/i> to <\/span>The Hobbit, War Horse <\/span><\/i>and<\/span> The Imitation Game<\/span><\/i>, there isn\u2019t a role he hasn\u2019t conquered. One of his biggest <\/span>acting works to date has to be <\/span>Sherlock<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/i> He has been part of this longstanding journey since 2010, along w<\/span>ith his trusty sidekick, <\/span>Dr<\/span> Watson played by fellow Brit<\/span> actor Martin Freeman. Although his acting career courts much attention, his wedding t<\/span>o Sophie Turner in February <\/span>certainly attracted the press and fans. The smitten lovebirds wed on Valentine<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s Day i<\/span>n the Isle of Wight and are <\/span>expecting their first child together. However, it doesn\u2019t seem <\/span>that the <\/span>Oscar-nominee will have time to take a break, as he already has six projects lined up between now and 2016!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rosamund<\/span><\/b> Pike<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Deviating significantly from the magical world of Disne<\/span>y into a much darker territory, <\/span>Rosamund<\/span> Pike\u2019s most recent role was a challenging character to capture<\/span>. That may be an <\/span>understatement. Her acclaimed performance as psychotic, manipulative<\/span> Amy Dunne in the hit thriller <\/span>Gone Girl<\/span><\/i> was definitely an Oscar worthy performance, even though Julianne Moore stole that crown \u2013 understandably! Even so, her portrayal of Amy was so accurate and chilling, something every woman would hate to be compared to, unfortunately for Kim <\/span>Kardashian<\/span> that\u2019s exactly what her brother Rob did \u2013 poor Kim! Well lucky for Pike, she seems a far cry from Amy Dunne. She gave birth only a few months ago, but there\u2019s no stopping this mega-talented actress, as she already has some excit<\/span>ing projects in the pipeline \u2013 <\/span>The Mountain Between Us, The Bends, The Deep Blue Good-By, Thunderbirds Are Go!<\/span><\/i> and<\/span> Return to Sender<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Eddie <\/span><\/b>Redmayne<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to the Oscars, Eddie <\/span>Redmayne<\/span> was tipped as the <\/span>favourite<\/span> to be awarded the prestigious Academy Award. His acutely accurate portrayal of the legendary Stephen Hawking blew his fellow nominees out of the water. The actor appeared on several American chat shows before his big win and won over the crowds with his humbling and quirky persona. <\/span>Unlike a lot of actors, <\/span>Redmayne<\/span> was keen to pursue his studies and after leaving Eton (Prince William was a fellow pupil) he studied History of Art at Cambridge. Alongside his studies he also modeled! He recently married<\/span> his childhood sweetheart, Hannah <\/span>Bagshawe<\/span>, at Babington House in Somerset with a winter wonderland<\/span>–<\/span>themed <\/span>ceremony. Sorry ladies,<\/span> he is officially off the market!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

James <\/span><\/b>McAvoy<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

James<\/span> has been part of one of the biggest movie franchises to date, the <\/span>X-Men<\/span><\/i> series. Lucky for <\/span>McAvoy<\/span> he was joined by an absolutely stellar, and very good looking, cast <\/span>including<\/span> Hugh <\/span>Jackman<\/span>, Michael <\/span>Fassbender<\/span>, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas <\/span>Hoult<\/span> and Peter <\/span>Dinklage<\/span>. However, the <\/span>X-Men<\/span><\/i> days are far fro<\/span>m over with their newest film, <\/span>X-Men Apocalypse<\/span><\/i> premiering in 2016. The ever so talented <\/span>McAvoy<\/span> will reprise his role as Charles Xavier in this hotly anticipated sci-fi adventure.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
