Q: It is a notoriously difficult career to break into \u2013 how did you get your break?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
I guess online media was a new thing on the market at that time. When we had a crisis in Estonia many paper magazines had closed down, we found our opportunity. I guess we didn\u2019t know professionally what we were really doing, but we had huge enthusiasm. And we worked a lot, a lot, a lot! And I never give up. I also had strong support from my family, which actually gives you more stability and strength to succeed.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\nQ: What\u2019s the best thing about your job?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
You will never be bored. Nobody tells me what to do! I can do so many different things in different places. I can travel and show a different life to my children.<\/p>\n

Q: What are the secrets to owning your own business? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Hard work, discipline and passion for your work. I always wanted to be independent. First I wanted a stable income and then I can do what I really like. But in reality, life is never stable. You need to take responsibilities and risk and you can\u2019t blame anybody but else but yourself. You also need education, mentors, experiences and luck.<\/p>\n

Q: How do you plan your week with so many different areas of business you are involved in?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
I write down the things I have to do, I take time for planning and thinking!<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Q: What challenges have you faced with running your own business and how have you overcome them? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
The challenge is you need to pay salaries to your employees even if the company doesn’t make money. So I go myself and sell advertising. And I always sell because I am so highly motivated to sell! Otherwise I would have to close down my company and then I will lose all my investment. That’s a good enough motivation for me!<\/p>\n

Q: What advice would you give our readers that maybe looking to launch their own business?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Make a business plan, because this makes you think all the aspects about your business. You will have to do market research, ask advice from mentors, but of course in the end you have to make the decisions on your own. Calculate all the possible risks and write them down.<\/p>\n

If you invest money into something, have control over it! Do it alone, don\u2019t take partners. Don\u2019t give up! If you are very passionate about your business and you like to do it, then most likely you will succeed. If you do it just for money, do something you are an expert in.<\/p>\n

Q: You are also selling Buduaar for a cool 6-figure sum \u2013 how did you come to this decision? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
I didn’t. I was forced by my partner! But now I am happy because I can do my own things and move onto a bigger, international playground. Otherwise I would be stuck in the same life.<\/p>\n

Q: What advice would you give to our readers who are thinking of selling a business?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
If somebody wants to buy \u2013 sell! Normally you are too emotionally involved with your business and you maybe don’t see reality – price, market situation etc. You always think the price should be higher. But in reality just calculate your 10 year profit and sell with that price.<\/p>\n

Discovering new things, passion and life journey itself. Also my independency, I can decide my own schedule. I love what I do! Also my children inspire me.<\/p>\n
