The Winners of the Marbella Awards 2017 were revealed during a star-studded awards gala on Saturday November 18th at the Puente Romano.
The awards, voted for by the public, were hosted by Hollywood actor Dolph Lundgren.
Among the winners were Olivia’s La Cala for Best Restaurant, Babilonia for Best Bar, Mirage for Best Nightclub and Puente Romano scooped Best Hotel and Best Spa for Six Senses.
The Best Fine Dining Award went to Marbella Club Le Grill for the second year in a row and Nikki Beach held on to their title as Best Beach Club for the third year in a row.
Best Fashion went to local designer Caroline Azzi and Best Hair/Beauty went to Bliss, while Panorama scooped Best Estate Agent, M13 Best Gym, Valderrama Best Golf Course and Best Art Gallery went to Timeless.
The awards, organised by Marbella Rocks Magazine, consisted of 15 categories with a Winner and Highly Commended in each category.
There were over 200 guests in attendance and top acts including Nathaniel ‘Tmar’ Harding and the 5 piece rock/pop band Jetstream. The voting for the awards opened in March 2017 via a secure voting channel on www.rocksmag.com where the public were able to select the best of the best in 15 categories with 7 shortlisted in each category. Voters came out in the tens of thousands to choose their winners.
- Dolph Lundren was a fantastic host who took time out of his busy filming schedule in between filming ‘Aquaman’ in Australia with Nicole Kidman and William Defoe before he returns to LA to start filming on the new ‘Rocky’ film ‘Creed II’ which will feature Dolph as Drago and his son returning to Philadelphia to fight Rocky’s son. Also starring Sylveter Stallone.
- This is the third year of the Marbella Awards which began in 2015.
- To compile the 7 strong shortlist a panel of esteemed judges including concert organisers Martin Tye and David Giles, RTV presenter Nicole King, photographer Johnny Gates and Marbella Rocks owners Sam and Arthur Nichols.
