2022 has definitely been Zendaya\u2019s year. The actress has been catapulted to superstar status following her hit HBO series \u2018Euphoria.\u2019<\/p>\n
The show – about a group of high school students struggling with love and drugs – was recently signed for a third season, smashing the ratings on Netflix for Seasons 1 and 2… becoming one of the most watched and talked about TV shows in the world.<\/p>\n
Zendaya plays the character of drug addicted, Rua Bennett, impossibly well. The scenes she has to do must be incredibly tough; regularly appearing out of it, her Bambi eyes rolling to the back of her head. In a large majority of the series, she is in a semi-state of unconsciousness too, goodness knows how an actor portrays this so believingly. And an actor of her age as well. Zendaya is only 25.<\/p>\n
It was not surprising that she scooped a Primetime Emmy Award for \u2018Outstanding Lead Actress\u2019 in 2020 for her role as Rue. She was 24 at the time, making her the youngest ever recipient of this coveted award.<\/p>\n
Zendaya landed the role in \u2018Euphoria\u2019 in 2019 following her impressive performances in the theatrical cinematic hit of 2017, \u2018The Greatest Showman\u2019 starring alongside Hugh Jackman and Zak Effron and the ever popular \u2018Spider-Man\u2019 Marvel franchise; of which she has starred in all three films to date, from 2017-2021.<\/p>\n

LIFE IMMITATING ART<\/p>\n
It was here she met her boyfriend, the talented Brit actor Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man and her love interest in the films. Rumours of romance were quick to circle around Hollywood following the pair\u2019s blatant on-screen chemistry and all the off-screen time the duo spent together.<\/p>\n
Although for almost 5 years, Zendaya and Holland denied anything was going on. They are both \u201cextremely private characters\u201d and did not want to \u201cdoom the relationship\u201d were cited as reasons for keeping their relationship on the QT.<\/p>\n
The news of their official \u2018coupling\u2019 didn\u2019t come until February of this year when they were pictured holding hands at the premiere of Holland\u2019s new film \u2018Unchartered\u2019. It was Hollywood\u2019s worst kept secret! According to sources close to the stars, the romance had been going on for near enough 4 years.<\/p>\n
Now officially out in the open, Holland regularly gushes about his girlfriend. In a recent Instagram post, Holland put a series of red hearts under Zendaya\u2019s picture and commented \u201cFirst.\u201d<\/p>\n
He has also spoken out about how Zendaya supported him on the set of \u2018Spider-Man: No Way Home.\u2019 Apparently, he was so nervous to meet his predecessor Spidey\u2019s Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who star alongside them in the film, that Zendaya had to calm his nerves.<\/p>\n
Of their romance, Zendaya said in an interview last year: \u201cThe equal sentiment is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own\u2026 I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to one of the \u2018Spider-Man producers, Amy Pascal, the romance blossomed despite her warning them both to not get involved. In a recent interview with the New York Times, Pascal revealed: \u201cI took Tom and Zendaya to one side separately when we first cast them and gave them a lecture. \u201cDon\u2019t go there \u2013 just don\u2019t. Or try not to,\u201d were her words of wisdom.<\/p>\n
Pascal feels partly to blame for them having to keep the relationship a secret for so long. Although it was a pretty rubbish secret Amy so don\u2019t lose any sleep over it!<\/p>\n
The news comes as Zendaya and Holland have just purchased a \u00a34m house in Richmond, South West London together, a sure sign that their romance is serious. Zendaya already owns a mansion in Hollywood but is spending more time in the UK to be around her boyfriend\u2019s friends and family. This new property surely means they have been dating for more than a few months, as they would have us believe!<\/p>\n

Hollywood definitely sat up and took notice of the petit model turned actress and as is with these things, it wasn\u2019t long before the fashion and beauty world followed suit.<\/p>\n
Zendaya has just started working with Valentino on their Maison Valentino Campaign, wearing a series of gorgeous barely-there dresses, beachy hair and gladiators… if anyone can pull it off, she can. She has been dressed by the who\u2019s who of the fashion industry including Balmain, Vivienne Westwood and Gucci. She is also the face of cosmetic giant, Lancome.<\/p>\n
Zendaya is a normal girl at heart though… admitting to doing her own make-up for the Oscars ceremony this year. The boho chic, Californian born girl is setting herself apart from all the over-groomed actresses these days. Although equally she can get away with smart power suits and couture gowns.<\/p>\n
Versatile, current, talented, beautiful and kind \u2013 Zendaya has got a lot of attributes, as well as being a huge supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, filling up most of her Instagram squares. We just need her and Holland to tie the knot and make beautiful babies together \u2013 life would be complete!<\/p>\n
