If you haven’t ventured to the stunning El Banco in Aloha yet, what are you waiting for?
Situated on the top of the hill as you drive into Aloha Pueblo, this international fusion cuisine restaurant occupies the prime corner spot where the old BBVA bank used to be. You can sit outside and take in the breathtaking views, morning, noon or night, as El Banco is open from 9.30am till midnight.
El Banco’s ethos is to create homemade, honest cooking with international influences but with exquisite fusion style. Every dish is packed with flavour but presented with the panache of many of the local 5 star eateries.
Chef Giacomo is inspired by his Peruvian roots and passionate about great quality produce. He loves using recipes and ingredients from all around the world to create innovative dishes.
Firm favourites on this lunch and dinner menu include healthy salads, homemade pasta and sauces, fresh local fish and top quality meats including Argentinean Steak. If you fancy trying something different there is Peruvian delicacies such as Ceviche (fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices and chilli) with corn and sweet potatoes or Yucca with guacamole and spicy garlic mayonnaise.
Our testers went for the Beef Carpaccio and Quinoa Salad followed by Tuna Tataki and Broccoli Orecchiette. The food was delicious and portion sizes generous without being overwhelming. The homemade desserts of Brownie and ice cream and Tiramisu were reportedly well worth undoing a notch on your belt buckle for.
El Banco restaurant is owned and run by husband and wife team Gustavo Kiguelman and Laura de Luca, owners of La Red on Marbella’s beachfront, so you know you are in safe hands. What’s more the couple are on hand every night to greet you with a warm welcome and ensure you have a fun filled night.
Since taking ownership of the El Banco in July 2013, Laura and Gustavo have revitalized the space with a fresh yet vintage look, which encapsulates the historical feel of the old bank, but with a modern, sophisticated edge. Another reason (like you needed one!) to come to El Banco is they offer weekly Tango classes on a Wednesday and have live DJ’s performing every Saturday. Perfect if you like some entertainment while you dine.
Similarly if you’re looking for somewhere to come and enjoy a relaxing glass of wine or cava, you can always pop by. There’s plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy for whatever occasion.
The restaurant is a perfect meeting place for breakfast, lunch or dinner, open from 9.30 to midnight every day, except Sunday.
