Zara Maria\u00a0Larrson\u00a0was born on December 16, 2007 and at the age of only 10 she competed in and won\u00a0\u2018Talang\u2019, the Swedish version of \u2018Britain\u2019s Got Talent.\u2019<\/p>\n
While that bought her notoriety\u00a0in Sweden\u00a0and 500\u00a0SWK (\u20ac50,000),\u00a0Zara confesses she thought her career was over before it had even begun as she had to wait till 14 to get signed by a major\u00a0record\u00a0label.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was still pretty stressed out, but the older I got, the more relaxed I felt. When I was younger, I thought life was over by 25. But now I\u2019ve kind of realised that life begins at 25.\u201d<\/p>\n
We would\u00a0have to\u00a0argue\u00a0that sentiment. In 2016 the \u2018Lush Life\u2019\u00a0singer had 3 singles in the top 40,\u00a0a number 1 in 8 countries and\u00a0had already\u00a0performed with a list of artists like the VIP guest list to an NME party including Ty\u00a0Dollar,\u00a0Tinie\u00a0Tempah, MNEK.<\/p>\n
She has collaborated with\u00a0Clean Bandit in hit song \u2018Symphony\u2019\u00a0which she co-wrote with Ed Sheeran\u00a0in album\u00a0So Good.\u00a0\u00a0Plus, to date she has notched\u00a0up\u00a0two\u00a0MTV Music Awards, a Kid\u2019s Choice Award\u00a0and a Brit\u00a0Award\u00a0nomination for\u00a0British Single of the Year\u00a0in 2017\u00a0for \u2018Girl\u2019s Like\u2019 with\u00a0Tinie\u00a0Tempah.\u00a0Time Magazine also listed her\u00a0as among the \u201c30 Most Influential Teens\u201d\u00a0in the world\u00a0in their poll.<\/p>\n

This year, Zara hated \u201clockdown\u201d so much she even considered giving up music altogether. Luckily for fans, she persevered and is releasing \u2018Poster Girl\u2019 a 12-track album of disco-heavy tracks featuring Atlanta rapper Young Thug and Swedish maestro Max Martin \u2013 the album deals with \u201ckind of knowing what I want but at the same time definitely not,\u201d she reveals.<\/p>\n

Part of Zara\u2019s\u00a0edge comes with her strong beliefs and the fact she is totally prepared to air them.\u00a0She\u00a0has always been vocal about issues close to her heart. \u201cBoth my parents are very educated and when it comes to\u00a0me speaking about\u00a0social issues and about what\u2019s going on in the world, they\u2019ve been very supportive,\u201d\u00a0she says.<\/p>\n
So, who has\u00a0crossed Zara\u2019s path\u00a0exactly? Well for starters there\u2019s men in general! A self-proclaimed feminist,\u00a0after learning a man had committed a sexual assault\u00a0on a woman\u00a0during her set at\u00a0Bravalla\u00a0Festival in July 2016,\u00a0Larrson\u00a0went onto her social media to not only condemn the act but what was seen by many as\u00a0her\u00a0\u201cblaming all men for the attack.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cF*** you who shamelessly raped a girl in the audience. You deserve to burn in hell. F*** you for making girls feel insecure\u00a0when they go to a festival. I hate guys. Hate\u00a0hate\u00a0hate.\u201d\u00a0Strong words indeed.<\/p>\n
Zara also recently posted a picture of her on social media with a condom on her leg, criticising men who refuse to wear them because they are \u201ctoo big\u201d.\u00a0A move that won her praise\u00a0from\u00a0anti-teen pregnancy groups.\u00a0\u201cIt was a bold move, but\u00a0it definitely got the message across,\u201d one campaigner said.<\/p>\n
Talking about her\u00a0strong opinions,\u00a0Larrson\u00a0was honest enough to admit that her \u201cman-hater\u201d label is actually\u00a0well deserved and explains her views.<\/p>\n
\u201cWomen are oppressed because of men. It’s not a complete lie. People focusing on\u00a0me being a man-hater is\u00a0irrelevant, in my opinion. Who cares if I don’t like men as a group? It’s not a problem, it doesn’t hurt anyone. I’m upset because the world hates women. Women are being raped by men, accused, murdered, harassed,\u00a0discriminated. It’s a natural reaction to be upset.\u201d<\/p>\n
Zara has also bated Donald Trump,\u00a0singer\u00a0Dr Luke and even\u00a0rapper\u00a0Chris Brown whom she said, \u201cI think he is very talented, but I won\u2019t support him because he is an asshole.\u201d\u00a0Brown was arrested in\u00a02009\u00a0for assaulting then girlfriend Rihanna.<\/p>\n
While Zara\u2019s comments have catapulted her\u00a0further\u00a0into the public eye\u00a0(and\u00a0not always in a positive light)\u00a0she\u00a0is the first to admit, in typical millennial style, that she really doesn\u2019t care.<\/p>\n
She would rather\u00a0be honest about her views and have no fans then keep her views supressed and have millions of fans. Although you may not agree with Zara\u2019s feisty leftfield beliefs\u00a0–\u00a0it is brave of her to be that strongly convicted to them that she would sacrifice her career over her silence.<\/p>\n

Zara is pleased with her latest album\u00a0\u2018So Good,\u2019\u00a0which reached the top 10 in 6\u00a0countries and became\u00a0one of the\u00a0most streamed dance albums on Spotify,\u00a0but readily acknowledges that it is just another step on the road to global superstardom.<\/p>\n
