This 8-part series should come with a warning as you literally won\u2019t be able to turn it off. Following the true story of Marie Adler, a teenager who was wrongly prosecuted for falsifying a rape, the story follows two detectives played by \u2018Muriel\u2019s Wedding\u2019 star Toni Colette and the deeply impassioned Merritt Weaver who strive to convict a dangerous serial rapist on the loose.<\/p>\n
The script is simply stunning and from the outset you are engrossed in the cat and mouse chase to catch the rapist before he strikes again.<\/p>\n
All this while you are equally embroiled in the complicated character of Marie, played by Kaitlyn Dever, who is suffering more at the hands of the narrow-minded, smalltown, male detectives handling her case than she did at the hands of one of the US\u2019s most prolific serial rapists.<\/p>\n
Upsetting and disturbing in places this is one series you won\u2019t be able to switch off – like Collette’s character – until you discover the truth.<\/p>\n
