This place is nuts, expect\u00a0to see partygoers in all sorts of outrageous\u00a0costumes, partying to electro, techno,\u00a0hip hop, dub step and drum &amp; bassto the early hours.<\/p>\n<p>Expect this year to be crazier than ever as Monegros is\u00a0celebrating its 20th anniversary. This year\u2019s headliners\u00a0are Carl Cox, Skrillex, Steve Aoki and Boyz Noize. \u00a0Tickets are priced at \u20ac70.<\/p>\n<p>Situated 5km from Fraga in the Monegros desert (or\u00a0badlands as it is known), it is located almost exactly\u00a0between Madrid and Barcelona in the province of\u00a0Huesca. The first thing you notice when you pull up\u00a0to the festival is the noise from the 85 decibel sound\u00a0system, because in the desert there\u2019s nothing around\u00a0to dampen the sound. Expect to share the badlands\u00a0with fire breathing dragons, stilt walkers and gigantic\u00a0flower canopies (well needed protection from the desert\u00a0sun). It\u2019s also a\u00a0well-needed break for festival-goers to kick back and\u00a0enjoy a break in a more chilled out environment.<\/p>\n<p>To avoid traffic to Monegros it is best to take a shuttle\u00a0bus service from either Madrid or Barcelona to the\u00a0event. The party bus will also be a good warm-up to the\u00a0actual event.<\/p>\n<p>With the likes of similar desert festival, Burning Man\u00a0in Vegas, being billed as one of the top festivals in the\u00a0world, Monegros is fast earning its place on the global\u00a0festival circuit, having scooped Vicious Best Festival\u00a0Award three years in a row now.
