IPHONE 6 UNVEILED\u00a0<\/p>\n

Apple unveiled their new iPhone 6 at a packed press launch in California last month. But will it be packing the punches of its predecessors and have everyone running out to upgrade their current iPhone 5.5\u2019s?<\/p>\n

The undoubted benefits of the iPhone 6 is its larger screen size, mirroring the popular Samsung S5. It comes in two sizes; the standard iPhone 6 is 138.1mm and iPhone 6 Plus is 158.1mm tall.<\/p>\n

Another interesting style feature is Apple overhauling the squared off design which has been around since the iPhone 4. In comparison the iPhone 6 boasts a much more rounded, slimmer body.<\/p>\n

The iPhone 6 is also one of the thinnest smartphones in the market. In fact it’s just 6.9mm thin and the iPhone 6 Plus is only slightly larger at 7.1mm thin.<\/p>\n

Both phones come in the same shades of the iPhone 5S; dark grey and silver, light grey and silver and a muted gold colour.<\/p>\n

While a lot of praise has been heaped on the new devices, one ongoing complaint is that the slippier handset material could lead to more accidents. Plus, there were rumours that the glass, which is in fact only ion-strengthened glass, would be the more durable sapphire crystal, which it is not.<\/p>\n

IGN journalist and iPhone tester Rubio’s main reservation was that the increased size of the 6 Plus, meant that you have to resort to using two hands to navigate.<\/p>\n

“As expected navigating around the iPhone 6 Plus with one hand was just about impossible,” he said. “You’ll almost definitely need to use two hands, or become very familiar with the \u2018reachability\u2019 feature.”<\/p>\n

However on a positive note the larger size means extra space and battery life.Trusted Reviews, added: \u201cWe do like that the extra display space of the iPhone 6 Plus and its greater battery life makes it more of a power user device.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s nothing more annoying than being an avid apps or video watcher on your iPhone and constantly running out of battery.<\/p>\n

Rumors about a protruding rear camera lens were also true. The new iPhone 6 iSight Camera shoots 1080p video and the front facing FaceTime camera is in HD with a new sensor allowing in up to 81% more light. There\u2019s also HDR FaceTime video support ensuring you\u2019re perfectly lit for video linking with your friends.<\/p>\n

Despite being thinner the iPhone 6 is slightly heavier than the iPhone 5S at 129g. The power and lock key has also been moved from the top of the handset to the right hand side, making it easier to hit during one-handed use.<\/p>\n

Connectivity is also vastly improved on the iPhone 6 (and 6 Plus) sporting CAT 4 LTE, offering data speeds of up to 150Mbps. It also supports LTE coverage for 20 bands, covering over 200 networks worldwide. The most bands covered by any iPhone.<\/p>\n

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will be available in Apple Stores in Spain from 26th<\/sup> September.Prices will start at \u20ac675 for a 16GB iPhone 6, rising to \u20ac990 for a 128GB iPhone Plus.<\/p>\n

WHAT\u2019S ALL THE FUSS ABOUT THE APPLE WATCH<\/p>\n

Apple has just launched its first bit of wearable tech. And judging by the responses to this tiny piece of equipment it\u2019s going to be popular as hell.<\/p>\n

Where many other smartwatches have failed, Apple has made the Apple Watch (note, not iWatch) that bit cleverer. As well as keeping you connected to your phone so you don\u2019t have to keep reaching in your pocket to check messages, it acts like a mini iPod and could even make payments and be used as a digital key to open your front door.<\/p>\n

Other apps seen in the Apple Watch include iMessages, Health, Calendar, Weather, Mail, Photos, Camera and Passbook including Apple Pay<\/a> and Apple Maps for navigation. The smartwatch also takes cues from other fitness trackers with health sensors and apps.<\/p>\n

The Apple Watch digital crown, commonplace on all traditional watches, replaces the pinch-to-zoom touchscreen used on everything from iPhones to iPads as \u201cthis mechanism is too impractical on such a small display,\u201d according to Apple.<\/p>\n

Therefore rotating the digital crown allows you to zoom into your app selection, your location on Apple Maps and a photo from your gallery among others. Scrolling through dates and times is handled by this knob too.<\/p>\n

The digital crown also acts as the Apple Watch home button. Apple smartly locks the wristwatch\u00a0with an anti-theft passcode whenever it’s taken off.<\/p>\n

Apple CEO Tim Cook didn’t go into great detail about the Apple Watch battery life, but he did hint that the smartwatch is designed to be “worn all day” and is “simple to charge at night.”<\/p>\n

The Apple Watch release date is scheduled to be sometime in early 2015 and at the as yet unknown pricepoint. Expect it to be big bucks though considering its screen and functionality.<\/p>\n
