The sixth and final series of BBC hit ‘Peaky Blinders’ is in production according to its creator who also hinted that the “story will continue in another form.”
“Peaky is back and with a bang,” Steve Knight said. “After the enforced production delay due to the COVID pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.”
Although series 6 is in production it is unlikely filming will finish till May or June 2021 at the earliest. Then you are looking at another 6 months of editing meaning the final series won’t hit our screens till the end of 2021 or the start of 2022.
Tommy Bulfin, executive producer for the BBC, said it will be well worth the wait however: “We are very excited that filming for Peaky Blinders has begun and so grateful to everyone for all their hard work to make it happen.
“Steve’s scripts are truly remarkable and provide a fitting send-off which we are sure will delight fans.”
