Trending this autumn season and beyond is skatewear, the colourful, fun, not giving a s*** kind of clothing that makes people smile. It´s comfortable clobber, daring and most definitely street.
The big guns are even getting in on the action. Vetements – the huge Paris-based design collective that’s got fashion industry tongues wagging – had one of its first major wins with an oversized Thrasher-style skater hoodie, as worn by Kanye West. Plus, in a nod to all things “Street” and “Skate” Louis Vuitton recently posted a video with pro-skater Alex Olson promoting the fashion houses latest line. It seems “Chic has also got in on “Street!”
Summing up the trend´s appeal Hybebeast said,“I think skateboarding’s greatest contribution to fashion right now is less of an aesthetic and more of a projected attitude. A lot of menswear and streetwear types these days put on a front of aloofness, whereas these kids really don’t care.”
If you love the skater look and are in Marbella be sure to check out Flamingo´s latest collection (as pictured here from Cayler & Sons, Black Kavia & The Hundreds) in their Puerto Banus based store now or go online to www.flamingomarketplace.com.
