Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt in the sixth instalment of the Hollywood franchise which has amassed €8.2 billion at the box office since ‘Mission: Impossible 1’ launched back in 1996. This latest movie is being offered in Real 3D for the first time too.
Written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who previously helmed ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ – the plot is classic M:I. When an IMF mission ends badly, the world is faced with dire consequences. As Hunt takes it upon himself to fulfil his original briefing, the CIA begins to question his loyalty and motives. Hunt finds himself in a race against time, hunted by assassins and former allies while trying to prevent a global catastrophe.
‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ sees Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin and Sean Harris all reprising their roles from previous films. ‘Superman’ actor Henry Cavill and ‘The Crown’s’ Vanessa Kirby star alongside ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ actress Angela Bassett as the new cast additions.
The film, rated PG, is out in cinemas on July 27th and is a great one for families and action film lovers – there are so many dangerous stunt scenes, it’s worth a watch just to see Cruise fall from a plane at 30,000 feet, swerve a helicopter and the motorbike chase scene is wow, just wow.
