Wow… just wow!!
This restaurant is so much fun and the food is to die for. We went on a Friday night and it was packed – brimming with atmosphere, a great live singer and the best food and service we have had for years.
Spaghetti Tree is a family-run Italian restaurant offering the ultimate dining experience. The fact they have won multiple industry awards for excellence is a true testament to the quality of the restaurant. Most recently, they picked up the ‘Best Restaurant’ in the Surrey Awards 2023 which was voted for by the public through Surrey Rocks Magazine.
Situated in Walton-on-the-Hill, the philosophy behind the Spaghetti Tree is that it is best to keep it simple, traditional, fresh and affordable. Also, and probably most important of all, keep it in the family! Co-owners are mother and daughter team; Maria and Dana – and they have been offering fresh yet affordable home-cooked food for more than 30 years. Their dedicated staff pride themselves on delivering delicious Italian cuisine along with a friendly and accommodating service. Their outdoor terrace boasts a modern elegance with a contemporary feel with stunning views overlooking the beautiful pond and Walton scenery.
OUR EXPERIENCE
We started off with Cocktails on the recommendation of our fantastic waitress Keisha – our Editor went for the Tiki-themed Medusa cocktail which came out in a porcelain jug and full of flames with an extra shot of rum in a cut in half passion fruit. It was delicious, infused with cinnamon, Wray and Nephew Kraken Black, Old J Spiced and Havana Run with orgeat, pineapple and passion fruit. Our other guest TV star Bobby Davro went for a Pina Colada and it was made perfectly with a sugar rimmed glass, he was a happy boy! We also went for a selection of Italian breads, served with olive tapenade, olive oil and balsamic – so tasty.
For mains there was so much to choose from. The pizzas are amazing and we know from previous trips so decided to venture off the carb heavy menu. Instead, we went for the Fillet Con Gamberoni Fillet Steak with Butterflied King Prawns with white wine, lemon, garlic and chilli served with crispy french fries. Although we decided to swap the prawns for Lobster Tail for an additional £15 – it was well worth it! The steak was melt- in-the-mouth and cooked perfectly medium rare and the lobster tail had so much meat on it, flavoured with garlic and herbs, it was literally one of the best dishes we have ever tasted! The peppercorn sauce was delicious too.
Bobby went for the Crab Linguini which was presented beautifully and with lots of chilli, garlic, lime, lobster bisque and coriander. The pasta was delicious you can tell it was made that day and cooked perfectly al dente. Hats off to the Spaghetti Tree chef John that we spent an hour talking to at the end of the night! He definitely knows how to cook the finest and most authentic Italian cuisine.
Our amazing mains were washed down with an ice-cold bottle of Whispering Angel. Total perfection. It has to be said that the staff were all brilliant at the Spaghetti Tree – so attentive, fun and made you feel at ease. The charismatic and utterly beautiful co-owner Maria was there on our trip and she ensures all her guests are having the best time. She chats to everyone! It’s so good to see a restaurant owner caring that much about their customers experience. It’s no wonder singer and TV personality Peter Andre and his family are regular customers.
LIVE MUSIC
A weekend is not complete without some live music in our opinion! Varying in different styles, Spaghetti Tree singers are there every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm till late to get the weekend party spirit going. Ranging from 90’s, to soul, motown, pop and classic. They really do book the best talent – we had the pleasure of seeing James Dyer on our visit who sang swing and the classics, his voice was tremendous and he got the crowd up and dancing. His rendition of Pavarotti’s ‘Nessun Dorma’ was captivating and was met with a standing ovation. As was Bobby Davro’s impromptu performance of Elton John’s ‘Your Song.’
On Sundays, the Spaghetti Tree have a great lunch menu and have a Sinatra tribute act Ray Lowe performing all the Rat Pack classics while guests enjoy their lunch. Open from midday till 8pm with Sinatra Sunday singer coming on from 3pm.
Plus, every first Saturday of the month there is a Bottomless Brunch where guests can have two hours of unlimited cocktails and a three-course meal for only £60 per person. Incredible deal. Definitely going to check this one out!

Spaghetti Tree have won lots of industry awards too. They scooped the UK’s Best Independent Italian Restaurant Award Gold & Platinum Winner in 2017 & 2018, a Best British Takeaway Award in 2018 via Just Eat, a Restaurant Guru Award in 2020, a National Community Award in 2022, a Surrey Award 2023 for Best Restaurant. And we know that the Awards are going to keep coming in after our brilliant experience. A must try!
